What’s your New Years Resolution?
Don’t bog yourself down with having your TO DO list turned into a MUST DO list!
Motion is a lifestyle, don’t handcuff yourself to a gym that most likely you will tear apart from in a couple of months!
Hey, resolutions are much more than getting fit – though Forbes Health 2024 resolutions rank fitness as number one resolution. It is conducive to know that volunteering, being nicer to people [boy do we need this one!], keeping your vehicle clean, ‘giving back’ and a litany of resolutions are there to be had, as well.
Every day, delivered by God, is a good day, yet many of us may see the opposite. While discontentment and agitation exist, a “day” is a good day!
And more so, imperative, we have to find ways to function in a day.
This is where it is imperative to have mental, spiritual along with physical health to rise above the devastation of dismay.
MENTAL WELL-BEING:
Embrace the Power of Now: Let go of yesterday’s worries and tomorrow’s anxieties. Embrace the present moment and all the joy it holds.
Cultivate Positivity: When negativity braces your mind, whether someone is spewing it to your ears or a situation presents itself, you can turn it around by addressing the positive.
Embrace Challenges: Challenges are stepping stones to growth. Face them with courage, learn from them, and let them sculpt a stronger, wiser you.
Nourish Your Mind: Read uplifting books, engage in meaningful conversations, and surround yourself with positivity [including people]. Your mind is your greatest asset; feed it well.
Celebrate Progress, Not Perfection: Life is a journey, not a destination. Celebrate the small victories, and remember that progress, no matter how small, is still a step forward.
SPIRITUAL WELL-BEING:
Spirituality is a deeply personal and subjective aspect of human experience, and it encompasses a wide range of beliefs, practices, and experiences. Here are some common facets associated with spiritual well-being:
Inner Peace: Spiritual practices often aim to cultivate inner peace and tranquility through meditation, mindfulness, prayer, or other contemplative techniques.
Mindfulness: Being fully present in the moment and cultivating awareness is a common aspect of spirituality. Practices like mindfulness meditation are often used for this purpose.
Purpose and Meaning: Spirituality often involves a search for purpose and meaning in life. It may provide a framework for understanding one’s role in the world and the greater cosmic order.
Compassion and Love: Spiritual individuals often strive to cultivate qualities such as compassion, love, and empathy for others, promoting a sense of interconnectedness and understanding.
Service to Others: Many spiritual paths emphasize the importance of service to others and acts of kindness as a way of expressing and embodying spiritual values.
Rituals and Practices: Various spiritual traditions incorporate rituals, ceremonies, and practices that are symbolic and help individuals connect with the sacred or divine. It can be a church or a divine practice.
PHYSICAL WELL-BEING
Move with Joy: Exercise is not a chore, and ‘movement’ is essential for healthy living – view it as a part of life and as a celebration of what your body can do. Many people would love to have this grand ability that you have, and unfortunately, they do not have it. Just do it!
Hydrate and Energize: Be cognizant to fuel your body with water and nutritious foods. There is no point in exercising your body into fitness and dashing it all away without proper hydration and proper nutrition – the foundation of a healthy and energized life.
Rest and Restore: Your body is your temple; you only have one, treat it with respect. Prioritize quality sleep and moments of relaxation to allow your body to heal and rejuvenate.
Remember, the New Year is an opportunity for growth and positive change.
Incorporating these messages into your daily life can contribute to a healthier and happier you. Cheers to a year filled with mental and physical well-being!.
