Happy In A Bloom

On my usual trip in one of my grocery stores, I peruse through the vegetable section and did a double-take when I saw flowers packaged among the veges.  Apparently, flowers had long been a staple in our cuisine – okay, no one told me!
It was elating to see them in that unlikely setting, and they still picked up my mood, as flowers usually do.

Flowers, no matter where: a field; a vase; a landscape; an accent for décor, are a mental-bolstering sight.

In a Human Emotions Lab, a Rutgers University, 2014 study shows, flowers are guaranteed to be potent mood boosters and have an immediate impact on happiness.

Participants were presented with one of three gifts—a decorative candle, a fruit basket, and a floral bouquet—supposedly as a thank-you for taking part in a study on mood. The delivery people were really out to measure the recipients’ facial expressions in response to the gifts; the research was then analyzed and coded in the Human Emotions Lab at Rutgers. In every case, the recipients responded to the flowers with what is known as the Duchenne smile—a heartfelt “true smile” involving the mouth, cheeks, and eyes; neither the candle nor the fruit elicited that kind of across-the-board positive response. And three days later, the flower recipients were still feeling happier than their cohorts in the study.

Life can be full of stresses and unhappy times and there are several ways to improve or scrub out those harrowing spells.  One is the presence of flowers!

Flowers are beautiful things and they make a perfect gift for someone you care about, they also make the perfect gift for You.
Usually people purchase flowers for other people, but that does not happen all year round, right – we don’t receive constant flows of flowers, I wish.

In that realm, you don’t have to wait for birthday, anniversary or forgiveness flowers… yes forgiveness flowers – get them for yourself, go ahead, boost your mood – a perpetual happiness trigger for your ambiance is only a well-deserved offering.
Having flowers around you, whether it’s one, two or a bunch is refreshing and uplifting.

Flowers have an immediate impact on happiness – get yours!
